Corrie

The village of Corrie is located 6 miles north of Arran’s main village Brodick on the islands east coast, where a cluster of cottages greets you (regardless of your direction of travel). Keep a vigilant watch for the Viking longboat (which is still in use by the Arran Viking Society) usually docked in one of the two village harbours which were once used to export quarried limestone.

This edition captures the red sandstone from the rocky shoreline breaching the sea with the Isle of Bute being revealed toward the distant horizon. Corrie has a fascinating range of rock formations keenly studied by geologists, the veins and marbling can be seen on closer inspection of this edition.

The B-listed Corrie Hotel is positioned off the main road, proudly nestling in the foliage of bracken, trees and small plant pots that adorn the area. Dramatic clouds rise high to lift the contrast of the edition whilst the Scottish flag is lifted gently by a passing sea breeze.

THE PRINT

This signed print is one of a limited edition. It’s recorded on Hahnemühle stock via a large format mimeograph and generally referred to as Giclée prints of premium quality. The paper is white 100% a-cellulose with a distinct textured surface and the premium matt inkjet coating more than meets the highest industry standards vis-à-vis density, colour gamut, colour graduation and image sharpness, while preserving the extraordinary touch and feel of genuine art paper. The editions depicted on Iconic Reserve are not representative of scale and solely for the purpose of suggestive display.
