Luggage Ticket Art

This series of retro luggage tickets was realised after the demands of extensive modern day travel in the digital era usually no longer furnishes the traveller with a paper receipt. The rise of QR and bar codes poses the question, will we look back in 50 years time and reflect on our journeys through our keep sakes with the same fondness of that of a well worn and mass produced ticket with all its character?

Inspired by design from the last century, the tickets are unashamedly crafted to reflect function and graphic style. Each has a punch hole, strung, stamped, tear perforation, and quotes The Hague Rules of 1924 (formally the “International Convention for the Unification of Certain Rules of Law relating to Bills of Lading, and Protocol of Signature”) for international convention to impose minimum standards upon commercial carriers of goods by sea.

Some have a destination listed where the entry country has provided a stamp, usually with the obligatory smudge or mis-registration. Overprint and trapping techniques have been applied to mimic the processes utilised for mass production making for a completely authentic ownership experience.

Produced to A2 format and as an individual ticket circa 7cm x 10cm. And the limited edition montaged set with 25 tickets to create an engaging piece or set as an individual. Bespoke works available on request.

The paper is white 100% a-cellulose with a distinct textured surface and the premium matt inkjet coating more than meets the highest industry standards vis-à-vis density, colour gamut, colour graduation and image sharpness, while preserving the extraordinary touch and feel of genuine art paper. The editions depicted on Iconic Reserve are not representative of scale and solely for the purpose of suggestive display.
