Ava Verdú Black

James was commissioned by AVA VERDÙ founder and brand owner Ann-Marie Buckley to create a graphic representation of her iconic swimwear pieces, and this stunning limited edition print – one of two – is the result.

Whilst there was an obvious striking identity in overlapping the A from AVA and V from VERDÙ, James was eager to utilise the graphic backdrop and vary the colouration to complement the product.

The idea of the stripes came about following a visit to the Paul Ricard Circuit in Marseille, where dramatic curves and deep cutting corners are characterized by multiple striped lines. Meanwhile, the image of a clearly defined female form wearing an AVA VERDÙ swimsuit was the result of a typical James-like spark of inspiration.

THE PRINT

This signed print is one of a limited edition. It’s recorded on Hahnemühle stock via a large format mimeograph and generally referred to as Giclée prints of premium quality. The paper is white 100% a-cellulose with a distinct textured surface and the premium matt inkjet coating more than meets the highest industry standards vis-à-vis density, colour gamut, colour graduation and image sharpness, while preserving the extraordinary touch and feel of genuine art paper. The editions depicted on Iconic Reserve are not representative of scale and solely for the purpose of suggestive display.
